Charles (he/him) holds a Master of Counselling degree from City University of Seattle and is a Registered Clinical Counsellor. He also has a Photojournalism Diploma from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology and completed his Bachelor of Commerce degree at the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary.
Charles recognizes the uniqueness of clients’ experiences and strives to create a safe space and container where clients can receive unconditional support. Through a collaborative therapeutic relationship, Charles helps clients to begin to explore their inner world more deeply and to develop strategies they can utilize to move forward with their therapeutic goals.
Motivated by a desire to help clients navigate difficult experiences and challenges, Charles strives to support clients to make sense of their situations and what feelings or behaviors may be evoked within themselves. He strives to provide practical tools that clients can use on a daily basis to assist them in creating the lives they choose to inhabit. Charles believes that within each of us is the ability to heal and overcome challenges in our lives and looks to empower clients to connect with the capabilities they already hold within themselves.
Meeting clients where they are as they begin therapy, Charles draws from different therapeutic modalities including Depth Psychology, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Solution Focused and Attachment Oriented approaches in order to help find the right fit to address their concerns. Charles comes to Jericho Counselling with experience working with clients facing a variety of concerns including anxiety, depression, relationships, work challenges, childhood sexual abuse, trauma, and life transitions.
Charles provides counselling services in English.
Vancouver, BC Counsellor Charles Maundrell is available Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday and is currently accepting new clients from across British Columbia.
