Dimple Sharma
Master of Counselling Psychology
Registered Clinical Counsellor
Dimple Sharma holds a Master of Counselling Psychology degree from Adler University with a specialization in School and Youth Counselling and is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). Before moving to Canada, Dimple had a diverse professional journey in India. She initially worked in public relations and sports marketing before following her passion for psychology and helping people to pursue their own dreams for a life well-lived.
Using Narrative Therapy to ground her work with clients, Dimple focuses on the stories people develop about themselves over time. These stories are shaped by personal experiences and also by influences such as gender roles, family dynamics, culture, and larger social systems. In therapy, Dimple works with clients to explore these narratives and create space for more compassionate and empowering ways of understanding themselves.
Building on a strong interest in working with adolescents, Dimple believes that developmental stages, especially the teenage years, play a crucial role in shaping who we are as adults. She believes that confident and supported teenagers grow into confident adults, and that emotionally aware adults are more likely to become compassionate, reflective, and socially conscious members of society who can bring meaningful change to their communities. When working with adolescents, Dimple enjoys using creative approaches such as storytelling, expressive arts, and psychodrama to help youth explore their identity, emotions, and personal narratives in engaging and empowering ways. Dimple works with adolescents, young adults, and other individuals navigating concerns such as anxiety, depression, self-esteem challenges, identity exploration, life transitions, and stress. Her approach is collaborative, culturally responsive, and tailored to each person’s unique needs and experiences.
One of the most meaningful experiences in her career was working in the slum communities of Mumbai, where she conducted group sessions for adolescent girls and women. This work deepened her understanding of how identity, self-esteem, and well-being are shaped not only by personal experiences but also by systemic influences such as gender, culture, and socioeconomic realities. As a South Asian immigrant who moved to Canada three years ago, she also understands the emotional complexities that can come with migration, including identity shifts, cultural transitions, and feelings of isolation. Dimple strives to create a safe, supportive space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to reconnect with their strengths and develop more confident and meaningful stories about themselves.
Dimple provides services in English, Hindi, Marathi, and Punjabi.
