While many of us don’t think a lot about what we eat, how much we eat, or when we eat. For anyone who has struggled with a form of disordered eating, known as binge eating, the issue of food can take up an inordinate amount of our time and energy. The drive to consume large amounts of food in a single sitting, often to the point of feeling physically unwell, is a very real concern that can feel overwhelming, isolating, and shame-inducing. These binge episodes can be followed by days or weeks of calorie restriction and over-exercising, as well as the emotional and mental health costs of trying to figure out why we can’t beat this on our own.
At Jericho Counselling, we offer individual counselling for anyone concerned about food addiction, including binge eating, and we also offer a Mindful Eating Workshop in a group format, that encourages social connection with others who are also struggling and looking for solutions. Please call our offices at 604 · JERICHO (537 · 4246) or email firstname.lastname@example.org and we will help you start the process of learning more about the options available.
