Master of Social Work (MSW)
Registered Social Worker
Jasmine earned her undergraduate degree in psychology and criminology at Simon Fraser University. Following this, she worked for several non-profits providing services to children and families within the Lower Mainland before pursuing a Master of Social Work from the University of Calgary. She has since worked for multiple health regions supporting children, youth, adults and families through individual and group therapy.
Jasmine is a curious, open-hearted person who strives to understand what motivates, scares, and fulfills each of her clients. She works from a belief that mental health and healing develop from within and that each client has the ability to access strengths and internal resources that at times may become obscured by many of life’s adversities.
She believes that counselling is a personal process that is based upon a relationship of trust. Jasmine values the individuality of each client and over the last 10 years has worked with diverse populations of various ages, cultural background, beliefs, and gender identification. She collaborates with clients to set the pace of the process and collaboratively explores client’s perspectives and understanding of the issues presented.
Because one size does not fit all, Jasmine works with clients to understand their goals and to create treatment plans that are tailored to their specific needs. She draws upon a variety of research proven and strengths based therapeutic approaches which include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Solutions Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness Based Practice and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). By using the models of therapy that is of best fit, Jasmine offers guidance and practical tools to enhance inner strengths and to overcome concerns such as anxiety, depression, work and family stressors, relationship conflicts, grief and loss and difficult life transitions.
Jasmine believes that with appropriate supports clients can develop new perspectives and grow into the life that they wish to live.
Jasmine offers counselling in English.
