Registered Clinical Counsellor
Claire holds a Master of Education in Counselling Psychology from UBC and is a Registered Clinical Counsellor. Practicing from a person-centred perspective, Claire views clients as the experts in their own lives, and cultivates a safe, compassionate and open environment that promotes personal agency and growth.
An eclectic approach to counselling, drawn from a variety of therapeutic frameworks including Cognitive Behavioral Theory (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Theory (DBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) and Mindfulness-Based strategies, guides Claire in her work with clients. Founded in a belief that everyone is doing their best with their current tools, Claire aims to partner clients with skills that help them to live their lives in ways that feel more effective and ultimately, more meaningful. She has worked for many years within the healthcare system in community mental health as an individual, family and group therapist and has supported clients, from youth to adults, to improve their quality of life.
